Nicolas Marchand
Product leader. Singapore.
I'm a senior product leader based in Singapore, with a career that runs from construction site to startup exit to enterprise product leadership. My edge is unusual: I began as a civil engineer on major infrastructure and building projects — engineering, procurement, and live project delivery — before moving into founder, data, and product leadership roles in technology businesses serving asset-heavy and regulated sectors.
I'm at my best where technology has to work in the real world: construction, infrastructure, industrial operations, logistics, energy, and other regulated sectors where product leadership and digital transformation reshape operations, processes, risk, and commercial outcomes.
Career
Most recently I was Vice President of Product Management at Podium.io, where I led product strategy and execution for AI-powered, automation-driven solutions in the built environment, reporting to the CEO, with P&L responsibility across the product portfolio.
Before Podium, I was Chief Data Analytics Officer at BCI, a leading market intelligence provider delivering data and analytics to the property and construction industries across Asia-Pacific, where I led the digital transformation of the group's research and analytics operations across Singapore, Jakarta, and Sydney — creating the Automated Research Framework and launching Analytix as the new flagship data product.
I co-founded SmartBuild Asia as Chief Product Officer, building and scaling a market intelligence platform for the property and construction industries in Singapore and the wider region, through to its acquisition by BCI.
Earlier in my career I worked in engineering, procurement, and project delivery on major infrastructure and building projects in Singapore — with Bouygues, Lendlease, Leighton, and Soletanche Bachy. That phase developed deep expertise in high-stakes environments, operational complexity, regulatory compliance, multi-stakeholder coordination, and large-scale project delivery. It's also why I don't underestimate what it takes to move these industries — the technology is the easy part.
How I work
- Hands-on. I'd rather be in the product, the data, and the room with customers than building slide decks.
- Methodical and calm under pressure. I prefer structure and evidence to heroics.
- Comfortable across technical, design, and commercial conversations, and in both founder-scale and enterprise environments.
- Operator background — I've shipped and sold software, built and led teams, and owned the P&L.
